Can Invisalign® fix shifting teeth?

The answer depends on why your teeth are shifting. If orthodontic relapse is causing your teeth to move, clear aligners with Invisalign might be a good solution to restore proper tooth alignment.

If one or more missing teeth are the cause of your tooth movement, you should consider tooth replacement, as Invisalign can't help with restoring a missing tooth.

If tooth clenching or grinding (bruxism) caused by tooth misalignment is your problem, correcting your bite with Invisalign may be a solution.

The best way to determine if you're a candidate for clear aligners is to book an evaluation with Dr. Barr McAuley to discuss your options. She'll gather information about your smile through x-rays, photos, and a thorough exam to make the best treatment recommendations for your needs.

How Invisalign Works

If it's determined that clear aligners are right for you, wearing them consistently is the key to success. You'll wear them for 20 to 22 hours per day and change to the next set of aligners every two to three weeks.

Most patients achieve their desired results after wearing their clear aligners for about 10 to 18 months.
